Write Now: Practical and Joyful Writing in all Disciplines

Writing is a necessity in education, regardless of the subject area, but it doesn't have to be tedious or dull. In fact, real authentic writing engagements are anything but boring! Successful writers aren’t built from scripts or ready-made prompts; instead, they are nurtured and encouraged through real world writing tasks and engagements. Building a classroom community of writers through engagements that capitalize on student interest and motivation while igniting a passion for literacy can help students become skilled and successful writers. This workshop will focus on effective and engaging writing strategies that work in every content area for all writers. Areas of emphasis include vocabulary, comprehension, extended writings, textual evidence strategies, multi-genre writing, and more.
